The drive into La Paz reminds me a lot of the trip into Lima, Peru; The level of poverty its people are living in is eye-opening. This is in contrast to a few areas of the city where people enjoy a life similar to that in North America.

The highest capital in the world (at 3640 m!), La Paz itself is a sight to behold. Nestled in a valley, you'd have to blink and take a second look: a seemingly endless sea of homes in an adobe brown color, covering every possible spot from the ground to the hillside.
