Testing out my new camera
No Parking HereAfter breaking my ultra-compact Pentax Optio S while climbing, I wanted a new compact/semi-compact camera that can take a few bumps, and won't break my already bad back.

After looking at a few choices, I wanted the Olympus 720SW but it wasn't going to be available before I leave for vacation, and the quality of other Olympus cameras (especially the noise) seemed dubious.

After reading a few reviews, and Ian's recommendation, I got the Canon A620. It takes normal and rechargable AAs, it's got swivel LCD, and it's got quite a few manual features. Hopefully it lasts through this trip!

Dude...thats the exact same camera that I got my bro for X-mass, he took it with him to Ecuador and it works great, the quality and the manual controls o it are great. Good choise for a camera.

Hi Erik - I just looked at your photos on Flikr - you've got a great eye for design!

I got a Canon A620 early in January as my take-with-me-everywhere camera - a 2nd camera to my Digital Rebel. It's really fulfilled all my hopes for it - an excellent camera - I think you will be very happy with it.
