I'm guessing this is the beginning of a great tradition.In 2003, Manon and I rented a cottage from Marc Beaudet for a weekend in St-Adolphe d'Howard, Quebec. Not far from St-Sauveur, it was about a 45 minute drive from Montreal. We invited our friends to come down, and it turned out to be a pretty fun and interesting weekend.
Ever since that summer, we've wanted to do it again. It's not so much the break from everyday life, but it was a great occasion for our friends to all be in the same spot, even for a weekend.
It turned out to be another fun and memorable weekend. For me, it seemed like the one of the last times I would see my friend Tom before he gets married in Ecuador next year. You can feel that event overshadowing this weekend as it was obvious February 25, 2006 was on everyone's mind.
Even so, I'm hoping we'll continue to do this and maybe in a few years we can host it on our own cottage and with even more people (if they'll actually show up!).
